Performance Advice

Submitted by Coach Chris Gizzi

"Any one can exercise.  It is relatively easy to do: just get some equipment, a block of time, and put forth some effort and congrats your exercising.

To actually train for high performance, an athlete needs a goal and the belief of when they want to accomplish that goal.  Now a knowledgable coach, can construct a plan around the sport specific challenges and specialized habits that makes an athlete unique.  This plan must build on itself to promote continual improvement so that the goal is realized on the day it was intended.

Anything short of this, is just exercise.  In my professional view, this is gambling in hopes that the athlete's raw abilities will allow them to survive training.  Instead-do the right exercises at the right time, in the right way, and with the right volume and/or intensity.  Now, the athlete is not just surviving-->the athlete is thriving!"
