Lots of D-I talent and playmaking ability; the blue chippers and some hidden gems came out to show their stuff. There were a lot of guys in that honorable mention group – many had exceptional days and may be out of position; others showed remarkable potential in flashes throughout camp.
1.Peter Jinkens (Skyline HS, Dallas, TX) – This is a big time recruit with phenomenal athleticism, speed, leadership, and playmaking ability. Really like his closing speed and his ability to come to balance when making a play in the open field. Hard to pull him off the field – a true competitor. One thing that really impressed me was that his determination was fueled by both success and failure – he got better as camp went on!
2.Thaddeus LaGrone (Allen HS, Allen, TX) – He might be a tweener as far as what position to slot him in at, but there is no mistake he has the skills for the next level. He has DB-like footwork/agility and the frame to pack on lean muscle to play LB in some systems. On air he is a stud – extremely impressive at this camp!
3.Alex Lyons (DeSoto HS, DeSoto, TX) – Best change of direction out of any LB at camp – could come out of a shuffle or backpedal or an angled drop and get down hill with assertiveness. Impressive knee bend contributes to this and would transfer well to his striking ability as well. He had to leave early and couldn’t do 1on1s, but did plenty to impress us.
4.Michael Rose (Rockhurst HS, Kansas City, MO) – Strong legs and an equally impressive aggressive nature to go with it. He does tow impressive things his shoulders: 1. They stay over his toes while doing everything and 2. They stay square to the line of scrimmage. Let’s affords him superior leverage and fortuitous positions when in coverage. I’d assume this will serve him well in between the tackles as well.
Honorable Mentions:

·#287 Aikens – Does a lot of damage in all facets of the game, solid at everything.
·Lincoln Richard (Everman HS, Everman, TX) – 3-4 outside linebacker and or rush end. Great frame, needs reps in space – but did really good for his first time.
